Recovery Support

New Beginnings for men, or the HOPE Resource Center for women:

addiction-treatment-4New Beginnings is a transitional housing program which provides a safe and supportive living environment to homeless males struggling with recovery issues. This program is specifically designed to serve 12 Kalamazoo County homeless males at a time who are attempting to regain stability and independence in their lives. Residents of the Transitional Housing program will reside in the facility for between six months and two years. Each resident will be assisted in developing a personal treatment plan with goals and objectives strongly emphasizing self sufficiency, continued abstinence from all chemical substances, and independence.  Download an application form for New Beginnings.

New Beginnings is a zero tolerance facility. Each participant is expected to complete 90 meetings in 90 days, to have a sponsor within the first 30 days and to have assisted in developing a personal treatment plan upon their acceptance into the program. There are also two group therapy meetings and one individual therapy session per week. Individuals are expected to seek employment, go through job training, volunteer, or continue their education as a resident of New Beginnings. Each participant is expected to be responsible for their daily chores and upkeep of their living environment.

The HOPE Resource Center in Sturgis provides a supportive living facility for women in recovery and their children (up to age 9). The home welcomes women who need a transitional home and supportive programming while in recovery.
