Jim Gilmore Jr. Community Healing Center Information
Family and Friends Group (Tuesday, 7-9pm)
Family and Friends Group is an educational session designed to help family and friends understand the disease of addiction, its effects on people close to the addict, and proven roads to healing for family and friends. We encourage family and friends to attend this session. There are 15 minutes for visitation with the residents after the meeting. Participation in Family and Friends group is limited to those aged 12 and older because of the adult level subject matter and the possibility of distraction to other group members.
Open AA Meeting (Saturday 7:00pm)
The open AA meeting is led by members of AA and focuses on one of the Twelve Steps.
Family Visitation
In order to allow residents to focus on their recovery, visitation is limited while clients are in treatment at JGJCHC. Family and friends may visit during specified times when they participate in Family and Friends Group. Residents are responsible for informing family and friends of the visitation hours.
Children's Involvement
We offer special groups for children. Please check with your Therapist for more details. Family, including children of all ages, are welcome during visitation hours on the resident’s first Saturday of treatment.
Residents may receive and send mail Monday through Friday. Residents must provide their own stamps, envelopes and stationery.
Telephone
Clients have a pay phone available for outgoing calls on their eighth day in treatment. The business line is not intended for residential messages. Incoming phone calls for clients are not accepted.
Medication
Please notify the nursing staff if the patient is taking medication. This is extremely important for proper medication management. All medications must be brought in at the time of admission. We are not responsible for filling prescriptions.
Dropping off Belongings
Clients may have belongings dropped off for them any time of the day. Items should be given to the receptionist. The Client Care Technician will check belongings and give to the client. NO VISITATION will be allowed at this time. Food is allowed to be brought in during visitation on Saturday only.
