Treating and Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect
Serve for Kids is a full day event that raises awareness and funds to treat and prevent all forms of child abuse, from child sexual abuse to negligence, in Southwest Michigan. Did you know that 17 cases of child abuse and neglect are reported EVERY DAY in Kalamazoo County alone?
The Serve for Kids event begins in the morning with a tennis clinic for our S.T.R.E.E.T. program participants, where they receive instruction and time on the court to learn about tennis. Each boy receives a “Swag Bag” with items generously donated from Swag Bag sponsors. Each pack contains new tennis shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, snacks, clothing, and more!
In the afternoon adult tennis and pickleball play takes place, followed by a silent auction, dinner and program, and live auction. All proceeds benefit the S.T.R.E.E.T. program and the Children’s Advocacy Center at Community Healing Centers.
